In February 2020, the Metro Renovation Project Directorate of BKV Zrt. (MFPI) announced a creative contest for the second time in connection with the reconstruction of metro line M3. The award ceremony, scheduled for June, has been postponed due to the epidemic situation and the entry deadline has been extended as well. The competition was closed at the end of October, and instead of the exhibition, we will announce the end results in a video message.
Similar to the first contest in 2018, this year works were received from all over the country, and even across the border, from kindergarteners to young adults, and from more than a hundred works, winners had to be chosen. The members of the jury were art historian Dorka Kaposi, director of the Deák 17 Children and Youth Art Gallery and Rózsa Rumi, a painter and art teacher, but our staff at MFPI as well as the representatives of the organizations supporting the competition also voted for the works they considered the most imaginative.
We were still amazed at the creativity; logo designs, mascot figures arrived, the creators dreamed of colorful metro stations, captured moments that reflected the current epidemic situation, masks appeared on the trains and passengers alike.
We are deeply sorry that we cannot personally greet you, dear creators, and we cannot see your work in a worthy place such as a gallery, but we will make up for it as soon as circumstances make it possible!
The announcement of the results can be seen in THIS video.
The awarded works can be viewed by clicking on the selected age group: contestants from kindergarten, primary, secondary and post-secondary institutions.
