The excavation of the elevator shaft in Erzsébet tér since March, later the construction of the connecting tunnel by mining method are slowly coming into contact with the passenger area of the metro station.
The Deák Ferenc tér station, which was closed on November 7, is now only separated from the Erzsébet tér shaft by a door and an approximately 60 cm thick reinforced concrete wall, and can be seen from one room to another through a previously made palm-sized gap.
Near the downtown Gödör klub (now Akvárium), a glass-structured elevator will provide access to the platform level after the completion of the metro reconstruction, but there are still plenty of tasks to be done by the contractor. The next step will be to cut through this last obstacle, the previously mentioned wall, and then the construction of the final reinforced concrete structures in this area can begin.
