A few days before the handover of the southern section of metro line M3, experts of the Hungarian Federation of the Blind and Partially Sighted (MVGYOSZ) was approved that the renewed Népliget, Ecseri út, Pöttyös utca and Határ út metro stations would ensure safe transport of the visually impaired passengers.

Checking the 4 mm height of the tactile pavement.

From the very beginning, the Federation’s accessibility experts and rehabilitational environmental engineers have been involved in the reconstruction of the infrastructure of metro line M3 and contributed to the concept of the line reconstruction, via accesability planning of the stations, materials and surface samples used for tactile pavement, as well as on-the-spot checks.

The site visit before the handover of the southern section ended with a positive result: the observation carried out by several MVGYOSZ employees, including visually impaired people requiring the help of guide dogs, did not reveal any serious errors, only a few minor repairs were proposed, which the constructor carried out.
