The reconstruction of the middle section begins before the handover of the southern section. The plan is to renovate the metro stations at Arany János utca and Ferenciek tere from March 2020, and from July 2020 the stations of Corvin-negyed and Semmelweis Klinikák. At these stations - during the future works in the passenger areas - the subways will pass without stopping.

The completion of the section between Nyugati pályaudvar and Semmelweis Klinikák stations is expected to be completed by the end of 2020, after the southern section has been put into service. The reconstruction of the stations of Nagyvárad tér and Lehel tér will take place in the last phase in 2022.
