Tracking a transport

From our last report you could find out how the deliveries in general are performed through the BKV Zrt. Kőér utca vehicle depot. In this article we follow a specific transport en route to the tunnel.

The assembly of a track is a complicated task, since it has to be done by placing the tools, construction materials, machines, etc. onto the flat wagons, and later placing the wagons themselves at a certain place of the vehicle depot, that the train arriving at night can attach each one of them without a significant loss of time, and later - in the order of the stations - can transport the shipments.

Deliveries require a very tight schedule, as they must be done between 8:30 PM and 4:30 AM. During these times the full line is de-energized, thus diesel locomotives are required to run the tracks. While deliveries are taking place, maintenance and inspection processes are also happening.
